Update!

I apologize for the tardiness of this post. After the book launch – the eventual topic of this post, I promise – I had to work, then went straight from a 24 hour shift to the airport and to Ontario to visit the soon-to-be-inlaws. Which was fun! Then I got home and went back to work again.

Sometimes I dream about the day I will be able to quit my day job… but in the meantime, I sure don’t mind working with people with special needs and seniors. They’re a hoot.

And now for the update!

The book launch was AMAZING. So many people came – friends of the family, coworkers, my parents coworkers, friends of their families, friends from school, and their families, and their coworkers, etc. The house was full, there was fun had by all, and books veritably flew off of the shelves!

Thank you to everyone who came to the book launch, and to everyone who bought a copy so far! I still can’t really believe that this is real: and that my book is published.

If you have read my book, a great way to help me out would be to post an honest review of it to amazon.com. That way, other people know what they’re getting themselves into!

Thanks everyone! Happy new year to you all!

The journey isn’t over yet – in fact, it’s just beginning. I have a to-do list the length of the loch ness monster, but far more in-your-face. Just yesterday, I offered my book to a local bookstore and a local library. Last week, I did an interview with a local newspaper about me and my book. I’ve been approaching all sorts of online reviewers, offering them a free copy and asking if they would read it and review it on their blog. Most of these book reviewers have lots of traffic to their blogs / websites, so that would be a great way to get some exposure. Many of them also post reviews to amazon – another great way to generate some interest in the book.

As you can see, being a self-published author is a lot of work, and a steep learning curve as well! That said… I’m really enjoying myself, and relishing the challenge.

I wouldn’t have it any other way!
