Olive is obsessed with Heroes.
Two hundred years from now, the idyllic Eden Village thrives in a post-apocalyptic world. The people who planned for their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, designing the Village and storing food and seed for future disaster, are venerated as Heroes.
When she discovers a forgotten library in her grandfather’s cellar, Olive is confronted with an uncomfortable reality: the world that her ancestors saved Eden from produced beautiful literature. It wasn’t completely evil at all. As she delves into the world of imagination, of mythical Heroes, and of the past, she becomes obsessed with the world before The Collapse.
But the Heroes that Olive idolizes are not blameless in the disasters that ended the world, or the deaths that followed.
